About
This is a free resource published by the 220 Club. No fees. No paid sections. No subscriptions. Nothing. It's just a free resource.
Much of the functional content in the Business, Physical and Technology modules was created by Bryan Canary (BSME, MBA, CHt). Bryan has been involved in his own Small Businesses since 1996 and fully self employed since 2000. His experience ranges from residential real estate development to affordable metal art to full stack programming. Initially, this content was far less formatted. It was written down for his own reference and as notes taken while assisting others during small business coaching engagements.
In 2014, Bryan engaged with Acupuncturist Ric Valentine (BS Economics, LAc) in a complex trade relationship that shifted into a mutual coaching gig that is still ongoing. The content that now fills this website was originally transferred to a website for Ric's use and reference.
Between them Ric and Bryan have over 50 years of self-employment experience and quite a range of industry experiences and trades.
Ric and Bryan presented this information to a few other Alternative Wellness Professionals in a comparable boat and they all found it helpful and insightful. It filled in voids they had experienced with Business Coaches, Counselors and Self-Introspection. These resources make for a good tool for Small Business assessment and it exposes and fills in a lot of cognitive and emotional holes they didn't realize were there.
Around 2016, Ric and Bryan decided this information needed to be made available to the public so others could use it with or without coaching or consulting engagements.
The idea of trying to put all this into a book was never attractive for numerous reasons.
The idea of a website was attractive. It made a lot more sense.
PROBLEM: For Ric and Bryan, this publishing isn't a commercial end game for them. This publishing is introductory information designed to get people to the openings of much cooler rabbit holes. This publishing is an invitation to join them and many others who are watching the world change in amazing ways right now. They decided that doing anything with this material on a pay-to-play basis would reduce its reach and increase energy needed for marketing and sales which they wanted to put further down the rabbit holes. They also decided they really didn't have the bandwidth to take on individual Small Business people for coaching and consulting gigs. This idea of teleconferencing is great, but for many things, nothing replaces warm bodies sharing physical spaces, and they both feel for most of the work related to these modules, having at least one coach you can spend time with in the same room may be important.
SOLUTION: In the end, they decided it'd be better to simply give away the information. It just made sense to them. They feel this website will make for a good funnel and filter for many folks who may or may not be interested in joining them and many others who are further down some Time Bending lines watching the world change in exciting and alternative ways.
SPONSORS: The idea of site sponsors didn't gain steam until they had fully committed to the fully-free content and until they acknowledged that doing individual coaching wasn't the role they were meant to play. They decided they needed to recruit existing Small Business Coaches to get the word out. A Sponsorship model is a natural marketing model for free publishing like this, and the goal was/is to find folks who might benefit commercially by advertising with us. Thus, the first target for sponsors was Small Business Coaches, Small Business Consultants and Companies who provide material that our readers may need to consume or subscribe to. Everything happened organically and it's always surprising to see how something as simple as free publishing with advertisers can be hidden from brainstorming view until other more technologically oriented options like freemium models with free and paid site sections are taken off the table.
Please visit our COACHES AND CONSULTANTS page and our SPONSORS page.
Please follow some of those links to their sites and say hello and thanks to them for the money needed to buy the advertising that we use to get attention to make this a sound commercial cycle.

- The first step to getting over traumatic experiences is diagnosis. The second step is relevant understanding.
- This material gave all who previewed it handfuls of pointers to items of all sizes that were negatively affecting them both inside and outside their immediate perception.
- It also gave them all a great deal of big business and technology industry insights unknown to many that explained much of the business and technology related trauma many had endured during massive storms of technology confusion from the 1990s to present.
Around 2016, Ric and Bryan decided this information needed to be made available to the public so others could use it with or without coaching or consulting engagements.
The idea of trying to put all this into a book was never attractive for numerous reasons.
- That would require massive proof reading and editing work, which is costly. It would be a static resource, which is very limiting. Proceeds for books are actually very, very low to for those who create the content. "Selling" the book would consume energy that could be better spent elsewhere.
The idea of a website was attractive. It made a lot more sense.
- A website is dynamic. Content can be edited and changed on the fly as feedback comes in and situations change. Content can be added as desired. A website is an incredibly affordable way to share print content.
- Memberships can be sold for one time fees or recurring fees if desired.
- The original idea was to have some free sections and some paid sections for the website.
- The original idea included a small printed book (and an eBook) to get attention. These books were to contain all the content that now wraps around the bulleted outlines in each module.
- The original idea included direct consulting services for small business people
