T101.10b -- GooglePhone (Project Fi)
In 2015 Google quietly launched a cell phone service. I heard about the launch of Pixel in October 2016 and I heard about the Project Fi service in November 2016 (so they weren't screaming about Project Fi in every Pixel promo, or I missed it).
Google is subcontracting service with Sprint, TMobile and US Cellular.
Plans are $20/month plus $10/GB. Additional user are added for $15/month. Additional data only sim cards for tablets and such available at no cost. You only pay for the data you use. If you only use 1.5 GB you only pay $15. If you paid for 2 or more, you'd get credit for over payment on next bill. If you under paid, you will be charged more as you go over (or on the next bill). They currently carry service over to 130 countries and no additional fees for international connectivity. Phones start at $200...
This is a no brainer... this cuts my current bill in half...
For quick details on all fees and disclosures:
Early adopters reported good service with a few drops.
No branch stores. No sales people trying to bend your brain around asinine phone plans that neither you nor they can discern. That can be all gone now with a change in perspective and that's looking nicer to many on a daily basis...

- The drops seem to have disappeared.
- When traveling internationally all data carries over, you only pay premium for talk time at regular international rates (this is a HUGE deal for those that travel internationally).
- Also, the phone just works internationally.
- A trip taken to france with an Iphone on Verizon and an Android on Project Fi left two women with only one reliable phone and it was the Android on Project Fi.
